How you and me came to be

Human Civilization came into existence about 70,000 years ago.  The human cognitive revolution completely changed our species. The Cognitive revolution is what Harari uses to talk about how imagination is what made the human race successful. The ability of the human species to explore and adapt is how the human sapiens became so superior to other species. The agricultural revolution is another factor that Harari uses to talk about the rise of our species. The Agricultural revolution is was when humans made the switch from hunting and gathering to settling and agriculture. This allowed humans to grow into larger communities and become more and more efficient.

Harai’s argument as to why humans became so dominant is that we were able to cooperate in large numbers. He explains that we are the only animal to successfully do so and that’s why we are dominant. I think this a true statement because we were able to out compete all other species by being able to work as a community to get to where we are today. What I found persuasive when he talks about how we used our imagination to create religion and large committees that gave something to keep striving for making us more and more successful. What I think made the human race dominant was our ability to adapt and overcome almost everything that we have been faced with. Disease and famine is something the human race is no stranger to. Those two factors have eradicated other species, but not us because we able to overcome major adversity. Now we just need to focus on not eradicating ourselves.
