Technological fixes address rising temperatures by using new methods to restrict the negative consequences of air pollutants such as coal burning. Some modern technological fixes to these problems of climate and temperature change include wind turbines as well as hydro dams. I believe that a way with which to reduce the greenhouse effect we have created within the past 200 years, is to reduce the mass production of cows. The abnormally large cattle population in the world is due to the social norm of fast food and cheap burgers almost anywhere you go. These cows release gasses that contribute greatly to the greenhouse effect impacting the earth right now. We could achieve this by starting to either implementing laws with which to limit the amount of cows per x amount of land, or to move towards a less beef focused society. The socio-technological fix comes into play with the way we would have to produce meat or a substitute on a mass scale to account for the social impact reducing the beef consumption would have. There are artificial foods that could be created to replace the innumerable amount of demand for the beef.
Based off of historian Michael Reidy’s article as well as those from the IPCC, the statement that climate science is too young to be reliable is absolutely false. In fact, as many modern science’s were being developed, so was this science. The only changes to this science recently that brings it into the light is the developments of climate change becoming more and more apparent to the rest of the world outside of the science community.

I completely agree with you that we need to drastically reduce the amount of CO2 that we are putting into our atmosphere. This is the most pressing issue facing our world now and for the next century. However I do not believe that the best way to accomplish this is to remove a certain amount of cows from the land. Sure, we need to remove CO2 from our atmosphere at all costs but I don’t believe removing cows is enough to cut down on the amount of CO2 that we need to. I do agree with you however that climate science is to young to be reliable.
